As a Boilermaker, I am torn by how much fun I had collaborating with the IU Athletics team to transform their vehicle into a rolling celebration of Hoosier pride.
My process began with a deep dive into their needs, understanding not only how the vehicle is used, but also the aspirations they held for its new look. Thorough research into successful branded vehicle wraps, coupled with an immersion in the rich traditions and brand guidelines of Indiana University and IU Athletics, provided the foundation for a design that truly embodies their spirit.
Knowing the importance of creating impact from every vantage point, I strategically incorporated iconic elements of the IU brand.
The legendary candy stripes, a symbol synonymous with Hoosier basketball, were reimagined on the vehicle’s rear, creating a dynamic and instantly recognizable visual. A nod to tradition continues with the classic Script Indiana proudly displayed on the hood. The “State Graphic,” a unifying symbol seen on uniforms, courts, and fields, was prominently featured on the roof, reinforcing IU’s position as Indiana’s university. “INDIANA,” rendered in the powerful Hoosier Bold typeface, commands attention on the sides, while strategically placed IUHoosiers.com URLs ensure increased traffic to their online presence.
I am proud of the bold and spirited design that captures the essence of IU Athletics. This vehicle is more than just a means of transportation; it’s a vibrant expression of Hoosier pride, designed to inspire and engage wherever it goes.
